Witcomb British Lightweight sport touring frameset - 49cm
Here's a very unusual and extremely rad little frame, custom made by Witcomb British Lightweights in the early 80s. This had been in storage for over 20 years when I found it! Full Reynolds 531 tubing, with long point lugs, fillet brazed rear end, double RD cable stops, and top routed BB cabling. Half-wrap seatstay caps. Long Campagnolo dropouts with eyelets for fenders. New Velo Orange Grand Cru headset. Paint is in remarkably good shape, although there are a few scratches and chips from normal usage. Some of the decals have cracked and chipped, but the manner in which they've done so actually adds a really great patina to the frame. Keep in mind that Richard Sachs learned his craft from Witcomb - you can see some of the details that influenced his style right here!
Seat tube: 47cm (49cm Center to top) / Top tube: 52cm / Rear spacing: 126mm
